Floated home from the ISCO field trial on cloud 9, Saturday I ran Gandalf and Fiona in the Amateur Gundog stake and Fiona won it for a 3 point major and Gandalf came in 3rd. On Sunday I ran both dogs again in the Amateur Limited gundog Fiona went birdless and Gandalf won the stake for his final 3 point major to finish his Amateur field champoinship.
When I get home I hear from Susan Russellthat Gandalf's brother Goose won a 5 poin ASD (Amateur Shooting Dog) stake in Canada.
Great weekend for Mythodical dogs

Just got home from the National ISCA show Showed Finoula for the first time in the 9-12 month olds She looked like a baby in the group and everyone was very nice to her. She showed well the first day moving a little when the judge went over her and baiting for both handlers infront and behind us, but a wiggle worm for me. Showed like a pro the next day in the ring.
Had Orin entered in the field trial class he showed beautiful and he took 2nd in the class.
Fiona was entered in the Field trial bitch class and won the class. Here is her winners picture.

Just got home from the Irish Setter club of Ohio field trial with Great weekend Gandalf won the Amateur stake for 1 point.
The best news is that Mythodical's Orin of Dualuc (Orin) trained and handled by Jean Webb and scotted by me, won the open gundog for a 3 point major which puts him in the dual pointed catagory and well on his way towards his Dual Championship.

The Holidays really caught us off guard this year, maybe because of the
missing week between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
In any event, Happy New Year and hope your Holiday season was enjoyable
I have been working Draco on pheasants adding what we have learned from
his trainer. On the day after Christmas, we planned a Family Hunt
and were blessed with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 40's.
The pheasants at Hillendale are challenging. People liken it to hunting
wild birds in the Dakotas.
My son, son in law from Texas, and I shot 20 birds. Draco pointed 30!
Only 20 were released before the hunt. He is becoming impressive.
Shooters might need work. Lots of fun. Son in law has hunted wild
pheasants in Texas and thought Draco did very well.
Attached are some photos from that day. As you can see, he is a
I understand Cassie II is doing well.
Hoping all is well with you.

Love gettin update on the pups Sutphen is out of Gandalf and Birdy and is 2 1/2 years old.
The best bird might of been the first one, after two flushes and two long range resets. Sutphen got way out in front of us, naturally way out of site....
We crested the hill to find him on point, must've held that bird for over 10 minutes!
Or, maybe the best bird was the last one. The cripple that was running through the corn....when birds are moving Finn doesn't- but follow his eyes and you find the game.

Big congratulation to Jim Pinkston for Orin Placement in Amateur Gundog It was fun handling him. I also Handles Janet Gomez boy Rory (Orin and Fiona's Brother) He is making the transition from hunt test dog to trial dog, so it is a learning experience every time he is out there unfortunately he only had a stop to flush and did a very nice job on it, no other bird contact.
Saturday I handled Gandalf in the Open gundog he got 2nd out of a 13 dog stake. Artemis made her field trialing debut Saturday also with a second in Derby and a 3rd in puppy.
Today on top of handling Orin and Rory I ran Gandalf in the AM Gundog to a first place for 2 point toward his Amateur Championship. Oh Yea! this was a WALKING trial.
